An Ultimate OpportunityEdge was not impressed with Dreamer's condition of his championship coronation.
At first, all eyes were on Edge as he kicked off PSI with the first edition of The Cutting Edge; but those eyes quickly shifted to the belt secured around his waist. After falling short in his campaign to walk out of Hunted with championship gold, Edge hade decided to take matters into his own hands — agreeing with PSI General Manager, Tommy Dreamer, to commission the Intercontinental Championship, and name himself the inaugural champion. Edge’s gloating was cut short by the GM’s arrival, who reminded Edge that part of being a champion was defending the belt — and just like the United States Championship match over on DELTA, two superstars would challenge Edge for the title. The first was the Straight-Edge Superstar, CM Punk; the second, the newly signed Chris Jericho!

Cody Rhodes vs Randy OrtonRandy Orton prepares to unleash his signature move - the RKO
After an upset victory over Drew McIntyre last week, Cody Rhodes was eager to prove that his second-round appearance wasn’t a fluke. Yet his opponent, Randy Orton, had his own desire for championship gold at Hunted. This clash of generational talent began with excellent striking and mat wrestling, with Rhodes at times catching his opponent off-guard with his offence. However, the veteran experience of Orton proved too much for Rhodes, as the Viper stalked his opponent and levelled him with an RKO; scoring a pinfall and a spot in the PSI Championship match at Hunted.

Don't Count Out Any Team
With DELTA Contenders already named for the Alpha Tag-Team Championship match at Hunted, Dreamer confessed to The Hardy Boyz and the team of John Morrison and The Miz that he was feeling the pressure to have contenders from PSI announced tonight. Not wanting to take any chances, Dreamer announced that the tag-team match tonight would also be Falls Count Anywhere — that way, there would be no count-outs, nor disqualifications — and only one team would emerge victorious.

Drew McIntyre vs Evan BourneEvan Bourne soars through the air with his 'Air Bourne' move
After both superstars lost their PSI Championship qualifying matches, Drew McIntyre and Evan Bourne took to the ring to regain some pride. Bourne also seemed keen to put last week’s attack at the hands of the Big Show behind him; but McIntyre mocked him for it before the match, feigning fear that The Giant was behind the youngster. The initial distraction allowed McIntyre to gain the upper hand at first, but Bourne was able to compose himself and work his way back into the match with some excellent counters, eventually sealing the victory with a breath-taking Air Bourne off the top rope.

The Hardy Boyz v John Morrison and The MizBoth teams were left scratching their heads following a controversial conclusion to the match
Although they would never admit it, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, John Morrison and The Miz fought a closely contested match last week, but with a shot at tag-team gold now on the line, the sequel seemed to hold much higher stakes. The daredevil offence of the Hardy Boyz reflected this, with Jeff Hardy throwing caution to the wind with some innovative offence along the barriers in front of the Alpha fans; yet the calculating two-on-one offence of The Miz and Morrison managed to wear down the Hardy Boyz. The action eventually split into pairs of offence, with Jeff and Morrison squaring off in the ring while Miz and Matt brawled on the outside. Yet controversy would arise once again — Matt Hardy would connect with a Twist of Fate outside the ring moments before his brother would be hit with a dazzling Starship Pain from John Morrison inside the ring. While the referee’s first call would go the way of John Morrison and The Miz, a video review revealed that both Matt and John Morrison would have managed a pin fall at the exact same time...

Who Gets The Shot?
PSI GM Tommy Dreamer was astonished by the tag-team match result, and made a suggestion that shocked both teams — Matt Hardy would team with John Morrison at Hunted. When the four superstars responded with frustration over the ruling, Dreamer said he was only joking. He decided that in order to give PSI superstars the best chance of holding the tag titles first; and considering both teams have proven their worth; it would be a triple-threat tag-team match at Hunted — Hawkins and Ryder would take on Miz and Morrison, AND The Hardy Boyz!

Triple H vs The Big ShowEvan Bourne watches on as Triple H tries to secure his title shot at Hunted
After overcoming Edge last week, Triple H was poised to take on Randy Orton for the PSI Championship. But in his way was a 7-foot-tall, 380-pound monster with a mean streak and a colossal chip on his shoulder — The Big Show. The World’s Largest Athlete — originally overlooked for the PSI Championship tournament — seemed to be intent to continue his vengeance, ragdolling The Game around the ring and kicking out after two Pedigrees. Perhaps intent on revenge for his beating at the hands of the Big Show — or maybe influenced by the mind-games of Drew McIntyre — Evan Bourne made his way to the ring; distracting the Giant’s focus for enough time for The Game to hit a third pedigree and seal victory. Now, he looks to Hunted in two weeks time, where he will take on Randy Orton to crown the first-ever PSI Champion.
