Sandman Starts the Show DELTA General Manager, The Sandman, had forewarned his roster that his ruling would be firmer than that of the PSI brand; but his announcement at the beginning of the very first DELTA show made this hardline stance clear. The Hardcore Icon revealed he had earlier told his superstars that he was commissioning two titles, and they would have to opt-in to compete for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, or enter a match-up for the United States Championship.
With four superstars staking their claim to the World Heavyweight Championship; The Sandman announced that the first of two #1 Contenders Matches was going to take place immediately.

John Cena v Shinsuke NakamuraNakamura levels Cena with a huge spinning wheel kick
The clash of two incredibly charismatic superstars was apt for the first match on the DELTA brand, with The Leader of the Cenation taking on The King of Strong Style. While Cena aimed to get within range of Nakamura, the "Artist known as..." stayed mostly elusive, keeping his distance until he struck Cena with a spinning wheel kick, and then with Good Vibrations after Cena retreated to the corner. Things looked dire for Cena, yet Mr. Hustle-Loyalty-Respect stayed true to his motto of “Never Give Up”, turning back the tides on Nakamura and scoring a pinfall after an Attitude Adjustment to punch his ticket to a World Heavyweight Championship match at Hunted.

Two's a Match, Three's a Party Though some might find the reward of a world title worth the risk of a tournament, Kofi Kingston decided instead to enter into the United States Championship match at Hunted. The Sandman commended him for his decision, telling him that his choice would mean the United States Championship would be contested under triple-threat rules in a match featuring Kingston along with two others who had already opted to challenge for the United States Championship -- Christian and Jack Swagger.

Hawkins and Ryder v Team TNACurt Hawkins attacks Sting from behind, preventing a Scorpion Death Drop to his tag partner, Zack Ryder
With the tag-team championship contender picture clouded over on the PSI Brand, the team of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder took to the ring against AJ Styles and Sting to determine the DELTA representatives in the Alpha Tag-Team Championship Match at Hunted. While one corner contained a legend of the business and a certified future Hall-of-Famer; the other contained lifelong friends, intent on realising their wrestling dreams.
Though they may have appeared outmatched on paper, the communication and teamwork of Hawkins and Ryder proved the difference maker, as they managed to isolate and wear down Sting enough to score the pin fall and progress to the Alpha Tag-Team Championship match at Hunted!

Christian v Kofi KingstonKofi Kingston blasts the wind from Christian's lungs with a huge "Boom Drop"
With their Hunted opponent Jack Swagger watching on at ringside, Christian and Kofi Kingston squared off in what one might describe as “two-thirds-of-a-preview” of the United States Championship Match at Hunted. When the Jamaican high-flyer gained the upper hand by setting a break-neck pace for the start of the match, Christian had to resort to dirty tactics — including an eye gouge when the referee’s back was turned — to slow Kofi’s momentum. Still, the “Dreadlocked Dynamo” wouldn’t let Captain Charisma’s efforts to gain an unfair advantage get under his skin; levelling his opponent with some acrobatic kicks before stamping the victory with a thunderous Boom Drop!

Rey Mysterio vs BatistaDELTA Announcer Shane McMahon checks on Rey Mysterio after he was sent crashing through the announce table with a Batista Bomb
After John Cena locked in his spot in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Hunted, Rey Mysterio and Batista took to the ring to stake their claim at the championship match. Though Mysterio approached the match up with gracious respect for his opponent; it became clear early on that Batista wasn’t concerned with respect — his concern was with winning. In the end, Mysterio managed to use his quickness to his advantage, dialling up the 6-1-9 and taking a three count. But “The Animal” felt the referee had counted too quickly, and after the match, his desperation for gold turned to anger. Batista pummelled the new number one contender, driving his spine repeatedly into the ring post before sending Mysterio through the announce table with a brutal Batista Bomb.
